Lawyer: a regulated profession
Raluca DAVID holds the French Bar qualification (Certificat d’Aptitude à la Profession d’Avocat or CAPA – article 100) and is registered with the Lyon Bar (France). She also holds the Barrister and Solicitor Licensing Exams of the Province of Ontario, Canada.
The practice is subject to the legislative and regulatory provisions governing the legal profession, including:

In particular, we remind you that lawyers are bound by professional secrecy, which is mandatory, general, absolute, and unlimited in time. All consultations, correspondence, documents, and information exchanged between a client and lawyer are protected by professional secrecy (client-attorney privilege under French law).
We hold professional liability insurance, subscribed through the Lyon Bar for the benefit of its members, with MMA IARD Assurances Mutuelles, up to €4,000,000 per claim (2024).
Terms of engagement and fees
Our fees are set in full transparency with each client and are formalised in a fee agreement or engagement letter signed prior to any intervention.
Depending on the nature of the matter and the client’s needs, services may be:
– billed on a time-spent basis, according to the hourly rate, or
– provided under a fixed fee agreed in advance.
The firm’s hourly rate is €300 excluding VAT.
A retainer is required upon signature of the engagement letter, amounting to 40% of the agreed fixed fee, or, in case of hourly billing, the equivalent of 2 hours of work.
Fees reflect the lawyer’s specific expertise, the foreseeable complexity of the matter, and the information provided by the client during the preparation of the quotation.
Pursuant to applicable professional regulations, clients must also provide a copy of a valid identity document (national ID, front and back, or passport) and a copy of a certificate of incorporation or equivalent company registration document (such as a Companies House extract in the UK or a Certificate of Good Standing in North America). Without these documents and the retainer payment, the firm cannot begin work on the matter.
